1. Organization Purpose

This website is operated by SBCAMFT, a nonprofit professional association under IRS Code 501(c)(6), dedicated to supporting marriage and family therapists through professional development, networking, and community resources.

2. Use of Website

You agree to use the website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights or restrict the use and enjoyment of this site by any third party.

3. Membership and Accounts

Some parts of this website may require registration or membership login. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for restricting access to your computer.

4. Content Ownership

All content provided on this website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of SBCAMFT or its content suppliers and is protected by intellectual property laws.

This site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or opinions expressed on such websites, and inclusion of any linked website does not imply approval or endorsement.

8. Member Forum Use

Members who access and participate in our members-only forum agree to follow the forum guidelines set by SBCAMFT. By using the forum, you agree to:

  • Engage respectfully and professionally with other members.

  • Not post content that is defamatory, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, or otherwise unlawful.

  • Not share confidential client information or violate ethical or legal obligations related to clinical practice.

  • Not promote or advertise unrelated services or products.

  • Refrain from impersonating any person or misrepresenting your affiliation.
     

SBCAMFT reserves the right to monitor forum content and remove posts or suspend forum access for violations of these rules at its sole discretion. Our Forum rules can be found on our Forum for members under the first thread.

9. Automatic Billing and Saved Payment Information
By becoming a member of SBCAMFT you authorize us (via our secure third-party payment processor) to store your credit card information and to automatically charge your card annually for membership renewal, unless you cancel prior to the renewal date.

You may update or remove your payment information, or cancel your membership auto-renewal at any time by logging into your account or by contacting us at membership@sbcamft.org

All payment processing is handled through a PCI-compliant third-party service. SBCAMFT does not directly store or have access to your full credit card information.

10. Member Account Information & Therapy Directory Listings

Members are solely responsible for ensuring that their account information as well as their therapist directory listing is accurate, complete, and up to date. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Contact information (phone number, email, website)

  • Professional credentials and licensing information

  • Areas of specialization or services offered
     

SBCAMFT does not verify the accuracy of member-submitted information and is not liable for any outdated, incorrect, or misleading directory content. Members agree to update their profile promptly if their contact details or licensing status changes.
